July at MDK

July at MDK had a slightly calmer rhythm with the arrival of summer, but it was still full of beautiful moments, new experiences, and meaningful memories.

At the beginning of the month, we joined the summer camp organized for the youngest members of MDK. Throughout the week, we spent time together through different activities and adventures. One of the most memorable moments was our visit to the railway station in Rudy. The place felt like an open-air museum, where we discovered an old nostalgic train and enjoyed a beautiful journey through the amazing landscapes of Poland.

Another lovely summer memory was our visit to Park w Świerklańcu, where we spent time creating bracelets and necklaces together. One of the children even asked my name and made a special bracelet for me. It was such a small but meaningful gesture, and I still use it as a keychain to remember that beautiful moment.

July was also an emotional month because we said goodbye to Özge, another volunteer whose project came to an end. We organized a farewell party for her, and it was a very special moment. Saying goodbye to someone who has been a friend and a source of support since the beginning was not easy, but it was also a beautiful reminder of the connections created during this journey.

During the rest of the month, we continued spending time with the young people at MDK. Even though summer brought quieter days, we used this time to think together, make plans, and work on new ideas. We started developing a project created by the young people themselves, focusing on their wishes and future activities.

July showed us that even quieter moments can become meaningful memories. Sometimes the smallest experiences, conversations, and gestures are the ones we remember the most.
